So I went for a drive…July 30, 2010Yesterday I was craving some inspiration and some of what I like to call “my” photo time. So I got in my car and turned up my favorite mix CD and settled in for a long drive to nowhere specific, and I got lost. And sometimes there’s nothing better than getting lost to help you find the inspiration you need. I drove through a lot of small country towns surrounding Charlotte, and along the way I found some absolutely beautiful snapshots that I think represent America’s past and present.I hope you enjoy.
This last one is one of my favorites in a long time. I know it’s not the typical beauty that you expect, but it moves me. While I was on a drive I found a park. On the drive into the park I felt like I was almost driving right through a forest. When I got to the clearing of the park I was expecting fields and gardens and trees and beauty. Instead when I arrived I saw this. It looked amost like a large garden of lights. And I’m sure this is really convienent for all of the little leauge games and events that go on here in the evenings, however, it just made me sad to see this much “progress”.
Rainy Day in JulyJuly 28, 2010We’ve finally had some nice rainy days down here in Charlotte and it’s been a huge relief from all the heat and humidity. Once the thunder and lightning stops, Nick and I have been known to go out in the rain for some puddle jumping or just to throw a football in the rain. Here are just a couple quick photos we snapped playing with our umbrella in the rain.
This one below of Nick is my favorite, I love the way the spray frames his eye.

Engagement Session (Johanna + Jim)July 27, 2010Ta-da! They are finally here! Our favorite shots from one of our favorite couples here in Charlotte, Jim & Johanna! Last Sunday we had all piled in the car and headed off around Charlotte; first to Latta Park, then to uptown Charlotte, then out to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden where the couple will be married next summer. We are so excited for their wedding at Daniel Stowe next year, and can’t wait to show you these photos any longer.. Enjoy!
