Valentine’s Day Inspired Party Ideas

February 11, 2012

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! This is such a special holiday to us around our house. Valentine’s Day is not just a holiday for lovers like all of the card, flowers, and candy companies would have you believe. This is a day to celebrate the people that mean the most to you in your life. It’s a day to take some time to visit, call, text, email, or whatever you have to do to reach out to those special friends & family members in your life and tell them that you care. It’s a day to celebrate all of the loves in your life.

So we put together a little mini-bash if you will to spark some Valentine’s Day party ideas. This theme could go well for this holiday, a bridal shower, or an engagement party for sure. We chose to focus on pinks, white, pale purple and antique vintage tones to help inspire this party.  The decorations can be simple, and can be more grown up than the paper hearts we made in grade-school (although if you have a family with little one running around, decorate with as many paper hearts as their little hands can make.. we all grow up too fast!). And the music should be upbeat and fun, maybe throw on some classics like the Jackson 5.

We choose some simple tissue paper poms, fake white rose petals to line the tables, and simple homemade colorful confetti (made with construction paper and a 3 hole punch) to decorate our table display. And we chose to serve a few small simple treats to your guests. Parties shouldn’t be all about the food, it should just serve as a part of the background, or a conversation starter, like “hey aren’t these cupcakes delicious!” For a small Valentines get together we suggest some small treats like cupcakes, truffles, or bite size candies, and some wine or champagne. We say err on the lighter side, we know we’ve all indulge a bit on the heavy side with all of the winter holidays lately, think of this as a lighter holiday where you can still let your sweet tooth win you over, but in smaller bites. But again, the food and the decor should be the blurry background to a lovely evening sharing stories and love with your family and friends.

Enjoy!

Happy Valentine’s Day

xoxo  Lot’s of love to all our family, friends, & fans!  xoxo

We have a couple of fabulous updates to unveil this weekend. Once being the ever so slightly delayed Valentines Day inspired post (hopefully posted later tonight) and the other being this fabulous Photoshop action.

**Please note that the people who make Adobe Photoshop have no knowledge or affiliation with us or this blog. Same goes for the wonderful makers of Totally Rad. This is in no way meant to be an advertisement for any specific products or photo editing tools, we just like to share tips and tricks that we have found to be useful along the way.

It is with great pleasure that we bring you these wedding photos from Lucinda & Dan’s wedding. The whole day flew by as one easy, beautiful, relaxed, and love filled day. We could not be more happy for Lucinda & Dan too, as they are two of the sweetest and most genuine people we’ve met, true southern charms! And the Birkdale Golf Club was such a gorgeous background for Lucinda & Dan’s big day. For all of the Brides out there still looking for a venue, go check out the beautiful Birkdale Golf Club. There were so many favorites from the day, we hope you enjoy!
